Craigdarroch Castle Curator Jenny Seeman will share some of the fascinating stories uncovered through artifacts in the castle collection. From everyday objects to treasured possessions, museum artifacts can open windows into the people, places, and events of the past, revealing details that help bring history vividly to life.
Jenny Seeman is the Curator at Craigdarroch Castle. Prior to that she was the archivist at Royal Roads University for close to eight years and has therefore been immersed in the Dunsmuir family story as well as the history of the Victoria area for over a decade.
Jenny is originally from the UK but has spent most of her adult life in Canada, starting out in Toronto, then St. John’s, NL before switching to the west coast just over 10 years ago. Throughout her career, Jenny has worked in many different archives – religious, government, health, academic, and national historic sites. She has accumulated a lot of experience in collections management, research and interpretation of historic materials.
Jenny is currently the President of the Victoria Historical Society and a member of the board of the Hallmark Heritage Society.
