Sweden SIG
About this event
Whether you're just starting your Swedish family history journey or you’ve hit a brick wall, the Sweden Special Interest Group (SIG) is a great place to learn, share, and connect with fellow VGS members.
During our meetings, we'll dive into the unique aspects of Swedish genealogy, from navigating vital church records like Household Examination Rolls (Husförhörslängd) to understanding patronymic naming conventions and their evolution. We will also explore the distinct geographical and administrative regions of Sweden, discussing how these differences impact research. We’ll also share tips and strategies for using popular online resources like ArkivDigital and the Swedish National Archives (SVAR).
A benefit for current VGS members only.
LOCATION: VIRTUAL ONLY via Zoom. Details including Zoom links will be distributed to SIG members by the SIG Coordinator before the meeting.
NOTE: To receive SIG meeting details, members must join this and other Special Interest Groups by logging into their VGS member account on the website and clicking on "SIGs" in their profile.
