British Home Children Day at the Shawnigan Lake Museum

DATE CHANGE - NOW 19 OCT 2024 (Saturday).
In honour of British Home Children (BHC) Day, there will be displays, BHC look up sessions and talks about Canada's historical British Home Children program by our very own Lois Chamberlain Thompson, Director of the Victoria Genealogical Society (VGS). Let VGS help you find your BHC ancestor! There will be a draw for a VGS workshop of your choice.
Drop in at the Shawnigan Lake Museum, entrance by donation.
No registration is required for this collaborative event.
SCHEDULE:
11am - 1pm: Lois will answer your questions, do lookups for your BHC ancestors, and talk about the Victoria Genealogical Society.
1pm - 2pm - British Home Children presentation by Lois Thompson.
2pm - 3pm - Lois will answer your questions, do lookups for your BHC ancestors, and talk about the Victoria Genealogical Society; draw for free VGS workshop.
Don't forget to explore the wonderful displays while you're at the newly-renovated Shawnigan Lake Museum, where volunteers will be available to guide you.
